Welcome to the Department of Economics in English at Istanbul University located in the old city center and dates back to 1453. The Department of Economics in English is founded in 1985 and incorporated within the Faculty of Economics at Istanbul University. The Department offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs and has four majors as Economic Policy, Economic Theory, Economic Development and International Economics, and Economic History. The Department offers Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree program for undergraduate students that provides them with a range of core and elective courses in economic theory, financial economics and econometrics. The Department also offers Master of Science (MS) and PhD programs in Economics both comprise rigorous theoretical and applied concentration in contemporary research fields. The Department is generally preferred by Erasmus students from abroad due to its pluralist curriculum and international perspective. Students graduate from the Department with a global view of economic world and innovative spirit that render a high profile for their career plans.
